Area faces a critical shortage of affordable
housing, with only 19 available units per 100
extremely low-income households, a gap that’s
even more severe for single-parent families.
High Cost Burden for Renters: A majority of
low-income renter households in Shreveport
are cost-burdened, with single parents
disproportionately affected, leaving little
income for other essentials.
